Paglo is an IT Management SaaS company and provides a search engine for IT and logs. It is designed for IT professionals and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and allows them to discover all of their IT data and solve computer, network, and user problems. The company was launched on November 19, 2007.
Paglo consists of three key components: Paglo Crawler, Paglo Search Index, and Paglo UI. Users download the open source Paglo Crawler to run on their network on any desktop computer or server. It crawls their network and IT assets and gathers information, which it then securely uploads to each user’s private Paglo Search Index. Windows event logs are also collected via the Crawler and Unix logs can be sent directly into the Paglo Search Index via Syslog-ng or Rsyslog.
Via a browser and the Paglo UI, users access their account to query their Paglo Search Index, to display the results as charts, lists, or tables. Users can save queries onto a Dashboard that continuously self-updates as the Crawler uploads fresh data. Users can also save their queries and Dashboard views for the community to use. The company has termed this communal aspect of Paglo, "Social Solving"
Customers can sign up for a limited free account or choose from a number of paid plans. Paglo is headquartered in Menlo Park, California. The name Paglo, is in honor of the fictitious, 17th century Italian explorer, Francisco Paglo.

The story of "Paglo the Explorer"
Francisco Paglo was a virtually unknown Italian explorer who first set sail as a lookout on Cadamosto's expedition to the Gambia River in 1455. Upon completion of a distance learning course in creative writing, he published a stirring account of the exploration from his viewpoint in the crow's nest, which was widely published throughout Europe. It ultimately caught the eye of Prince Henry the Navigator who was a Portuguese royal prince, soldier, and patron of explorers. Prince Henry summoned Paglo, and thanks to his generous funding, sent him on an expedition around Africa's Cape of Good Hope in 1460 to trade for spices in India. A storm pushed him off his target, and he finally dropped anchor in what is now known as New Zealand.
